Four New Rides Added to Epics Program

IMBA's heralded collection of Epics recently grew with four great additions. The 2008 blend purpose-built (Ray's Indoor Bike Park, FATS) facilities with trails that pre-date mountain bikes (Monarch Crest, Paul's 100). Both styles yield incredible Epics: specialized riding experiences offer challenge and thrills perfectly attuned for biking while older trails take us on amazing journeys that have long intrigued travelers of all sorts. Stay tuned to IMBA Canada's website for updates about Epic celebrations throughout the year, including Paul's 100 in the Ganaraska Forest, ON.

Got Access Problems? New Resources in Trail Science Database Offer Support

New and updated scientific papers have been added to the Science and Research section of IMBA's online resources. Recent research on the impacts of mountain biking bodes well for cyclists. You'll find well-documented, widely accepted studies that suggest the impacts of mountain biking are similar to those of hiking in papers like Environmental Impacts of Mountain Biking: Science Review and Best Practices. Dozens of additional resources are available in this online collection.

Calling All Clubs: Attend the 2008 IMBA World Summit!

Make sure your club is represented among the hundreds of mountain biking enthusiasts from around the globe gathering in Park City, Utah, June 18-21 for the 2008 IMBA World Summit. IMBA Summits bring mountain biking advocates, land managers, ski resort professionals, trailbuilders, tourism officials and the bike industry together for collaboration, planning and celebration.

Looking for Volunteer Translators

One of IMBA Canada's goals for 2008 is to translate more of our essential mountain bike management and trailbuilding resources into French. With the high cost of professional translation being prohibitive, we are seeking volunteer translators to tackle some of the most highly sought after articles. Contact lora@imba.com if you are interested in helping IMBA Canada accomplish this key goal.

Conservation Actions Performed By Mountain Bikers -- Send Us Your Stories

Has your club performed a conservation action lately? Let IMBA know about it. Whether it's rerouting an eroded trail, protecting sensitive plants or animals or raising environmental awareness, help us spread the word about mountain bikers' good deeds. Contact: drew@imba.com

Take Action - Help Mountain Biking in Montreal

Help legitimize mountain biking in Quebec by taking this survey about mountain biking on Mont-Royal in the heart of Montreal. The survey, to identify trail users on Mont-Royal, is being conducted by Les Amis de la montagne in partnership with the FQSC and the ADSVMQ.
