Storck 2013 bikes launched - Eurobike 2012

Message par redplanet » Jeu Août 30, 2012 7:56 am

German bike perfectionists showed their 2013 range at , with something for everything - from road and time trial machines to mountain bikes.

But the headline act is the new Aernario G1, an aero frame designed to be efficiently fast in the wind without sacrificing rider comfort.

Aernario G1

Rather than having vertically aero shaped tubes, the Aernario’s frame features tubing shaped to be aerodynamic in the horizontal plane. This allows more vertical flex, reduces vibration and aids comfort.

A hidden seatpost clamp and bolt continue the aero theme, and leave more exposed seatpost for a little extra give. Frame weight is claimed to be from 890g, with internal cable routing for both electronic and mechanical shifting.

UK prices are yet to be announced, but the Aernario will cost 3,499 Euros as a frame and fork, and 5,098 Euros fitted with mechanical Shimano Ultegra.

Aero 2 Basic G1

Also on show was the Aero 2 Basic G1 time trial and triathlon bike. A lower-priced development of the Aero 2 with integrated brakes, the Basic G1 has conventional brakes but retains the aero frame and integrated stem and top tube.

With plenty of aerodynamic touches, the Aero 2 Basic G1 can be purchased for 3,999 Euros as a frameset only, or from 7,698 Euros with Shimano Ultegra Di2.

Off-road options

For off-roaders, Storck were displaying their first 650b mountain bike. Filling the gap between 29in and 26in wheeled bikes and offering - arguably - the ideal hoop size for many riders, the Rebel Seven has a carbon hardtail frame with flattened profile tubes to enhance rear end comfort. It also boasts a tapered steerer tube and direct-mount front derailleur. With a frame weight claimed to be upwards of 1,090g, the frame will retail at 1,799 Euros.

Another new MTB present at Eurobike was the Zero 2 Nine, an aluminium-framed 29er with a direct-mount front derailleur and a unique Storck-designed replaceable rear derailleur hanger. The bike is so new that further specification information isn’t yet available, but the frame will be priced at 699 Euros.
