MRP has released a new carbon fiber-enhanced version of its AMG single-ring chainguide, dropping the weight from around 125g down to 105g. According to MRP, the switch from an aluminum to a carbon fiber backplate also improves impact durability.
As on the standard AMG, the AMG Carbon features a nylon upper guide with MRP's 'Quietring' wrap to decrease noise, a lower skid built into the backplate, and no lower guide at all since MRP intends for this to be used with the latest crop of clutch-equipped rear derailleurs.

MRP will offer the AMG Carbon in versions to fit both 28-32T chainrings and 32-38T ones. Suggested retail price is US$150 - a US$50 upcharge over the standard aluminum AMG.
