Sorry for the lapse in posts; updates to the blog infrastructure left us out of commission for a few days.
In case you missed the in the Gazette over the weekend, there is a great exhibit going on now down at Foufounes Électriques called , a collection of portraits of Montreal bike couriers by , a photographer, artist and former courier.

The exhibition pulls together two dozen portraits from some
12,000 shots he has taken of the Montreal courier lifestyle over the
past 11 years. For that reason alone it's worth a look; few documentarists work so intimately with the subjects in their portraits.
Another reason I like this exhibit: in a way these tough-as-nails messengers are a testament to Montrealers as a whole, displaying what it takes to endure this city, especially in the winter, and still come out human. As Abramovitch told the Gazette: "No one has the dense urban core
and the kind of cold that we do here in Montreal."
The show runs through December 6 at Foufs (87 Ste. Catherine St. E).
