Cyclists opposed to the changes at the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit have organized an as well as a protest ride Friday evening, from 6 to 7 pm.
From the organizers:
... it is fundamental that this remains a peaceful demonstration.
No act of violence or vandalism will tolerated on the installations of
the Parc including the new slowdown devices and speed bumps. The
Société du Parc Jean Drapeau has shown signs of openness and will
participate in an official meeting with all the official
representatives of different sport federations next Tuesday, it is not
the time to put this in jeopardy.
The demonstration is open to all: cyclists, inline skaters, wheelchairs and whatever your age!
Although
we can’t make it mandatory, it is strongly suggested that you wear a
helmet and that you access the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve by bike or any
other means of transportation than by car.
Not sure if I can make it, but thought I'd get the word out.
