To celebrate our good friend Echo`s birthday the Rochester`s jackalopes came to Montreal.

We rode DH all day saturday at Bromont and it was a great time. We did 5 awesome rides :

Andy`s special
Radical #20
Big Bang #7 with the crazy "monstre à batterie" start :thumb:
L'adrénaline #18 with the awesome Indescente #23
and we finished by Boomerang #9

It was the first time I rode #23 and I loved it, especially the techinal rock gardens at the start but that teetertotter is ridiculous. It`s the harshest teeter I ever rode BANG! They need StuntMatty and Earl`s stunt building skills

Except for the couple of mecanicals we had that day, everyone had a huge smile at the end of the downhill..........day!

Sorry no pics.

We went back home to party a bit for Echo 29th birthday *cough*cough* yeah right! *cough*

In honor of Echo simulation , in the deckparty movie, of a drunken guy view with boob vision, Theresa and Earl made him a titty cake.

We enjoy a nice dinner cooked by Isa: mmm peanut butter dumplings and pork brochette.

The next moring we hook up with some of the AllezY crew for a long ride in Sainte-Anne des Lacs

Image

Of course we had the pre-ride whisky shot

It was the first time I met McFranck but a guy that can drink whisky in the morning before a ride is OK in my book :D

The trails in SADL are very rocky and technical. Almost everyone had scratches on their pedals and chainring from bashing into the rocks

Here`s McFranck on the big rock that everyone that has been at SADL remembers. It does not look step but their is a small kink at the end that could send a careless rider over the bar.

Here`s Echo on the same descent.

Teresa was on fire with her new Jekyll frame. She climbed like a mad women. Good job treesaw you are really improving.

Image

There is one good thing about trails that are not weekly maintained , we get to play on the falling logs.

We rode for almost 5 hours and everyone was happily exhausted.

Honorable mentions:

Tony for his first xc ride of the year
Earl tactless joke on Tony flat that refered to his earlier crash :

"He needed that flat like he needed a hole in the Head"

Zoby, which is rapidly improving his skills, who climbed the big flat rock
Sorgie who had to put up with mechanicals on my loaner bike

Great ride everyone!

Jackalopes: it was again a honor to have you in Montreal with us, you guys are always welcome. We will miss you.

Once again Deyv and Isa have proven to be the best hosts. I could not have asked for more for my birthday than a great weekend of DH riding and XC riding, guided by the skilled locals on awesome trails. I think the Titty Cake sums up the weekend perfectly :D

Thank you again for such a wonderful weekend and all of the great foods! Isa & Deyv are amazing hosts!!!!

I seem to ride well with Isabelle and look forward to many more rides together...she makes me climb and I make her do crazy downhill lines ;)

Here's a good picture of Isa celebrating after the last run on our downhill...day.
